Hi all,
The K4AMG CLUB is using the TS 2000 and SATPC32.
In SAT mode the program or the transceiver gives an uplink and down link frequency. The ISS is simplex. Is it possible to work a simplex mode to the ISS with this configuration?
God Bless

ISS voice contacts are NOT simplex. They are just not cross-band. You have a different uplink and downlink frequency but within the same band similar to a conventional repeater.
You should be able to set both the software and the radio to the correct frequencies.

Rich SATPC32ISS should fix you up. Look at SATPC32 in your programs folder, it should be there. I'm not sure about the TS 2000, I use Icom 910 but that shouldn't matter. With SATPC32ISS it should set your radio int split mode with the 2 frequencies that you need for voice. However if you are trying for the 145.825 simplex if you have it input in the Doppler Sqf in Auxiliary Files under the question mark on the tool bar of Satpc32 it should show up in the CAT, then click on the frequency. Clear as mud isn't it ? I may not of described it very well but if you look in these areas it may help you out. If you need more help just ask

OK,
You are saying that no 2 meter contacts are simplex. contacts are DUPLEX on 2 meters with ISS.
Where do you find the ISS section on SATPC32? We found ISS listed but it was 435? and 145.800.
Is PSK and Slow Scan TV random transmissions from ISS or is there a schedule so we know what classes in school can use them or may be there is a schedule, posted some where.
We want to start these programs the first of the year in school.
Maybe there is a knowledgeable and active AMSAT person in the Chesapeake, VA - Hampton Roads area. Does any one know?

Hi Rich,
There is a separate program you launch---don't run SatPC32.exe; rather, use SatPC32ISS.exe. The SatPC32ISS.exe program is different, to handle the 2M duplex issues.
SatPC32ISS.exe should be under the SatPC32 folder under your Start button.

Actually, they're not duplex, they're SPLIT, like working a DX station on HF where you transmit UP from the DX station's frequency. The uplink and downlink frequencies for the ISS are different, and because they are in the same band, require a special version of SatPC32 (SatPC32ISS) to control the two frequencies.
