DIY Spectrum Analysers - Broadband RX 50-800 MHz?
Is there any value to a pile of old set-top cable boxes (maybe 30 or more of them)?
Inside they have the typical DC voltage varactor tuned Cable Tuner modules that people used to make cheap spectrum analyzers out of. Lots of articles back a decade or more ago.
A simple DC voltage could tune them from maybe 50 to maybe 800 or higher MHz. Output was probably around 50 MHz (Ch 3?)
Should I bring them to Dayton? Or chuck-em.

Or put them on eBay.....
