Hypothetically speaking, if you had an FT-857 and wanted to work satellites full-duplex, what would you pair it with? Another 857, an 817, something else?
Thanks, Joel, W4JBB AMSAT #32589
I was using a pair of 857 before I got an Icom IC-910. The cheaper way out would be an 817.

Hi Joel,
I've always used my FT-857D as the receiver, paired with my FT 817ND as transmitter for portable use, and found it a very good combination. It all fits in a shoulder bag complete with gel cell battery, and either my arrow or elk antenna.
Anybody interested in purchasing my trusty IC-821H?
I recently replaced with an IC-910H, $450.00 will take it.
Please reply direct, if interested.
