OK Guys, Yes - we all miss AO-40 and other HEO birds. Let's get on the right track and insure that when an HEO opportunity arises, we will all be standing by to assist. For now, I've been contending with questions from "newbies" about how to operate on the LEO's. There seems to be a lot of people interested in SATS But we have to be patient and answer the current questions so we can enhance the ranks of AMSAT.

Hi Dee, NB2F
AO40 died 8 years ago and following DB2OS indication the possibility to launch P3E fall into 2018 and since I am 80 years old I don't know if I will see or not P3E in good brain shape or with many senior moments or if I will be died at all at that time.
For now, I've been contending with questions from "newbies" about how to operate on the LEO's. There seems to be a lot of people interested in SATS But we have to be patient and answer the current questions so we can enhance the ranks of AMSAT.
If I have to suggest someone to dedicate his time and invest money in a satellite station I will suggest to him to go in HF and not satellite at all.
Also missing HEO birds,
We have lost not only the best HEO satellite i.e. AO40 but we are loosing the FM LEO satellite too but just now the LEO satellite VO-52 so that the satellite activity was nice until it lasted because the future in my opinion with only the old FMing OSCAR-7 is not bright at all...(sobsob)

Judging from you many articulate posts Domenico I would never guess you are 80. I keep a separate file in my computer called "Domenico" to maintain a knowledge base. May you last until the next HEO, your expertise is invaluable. I think AO-7 will out live all of us.
