I have a fully registered version, but I am still limited to 12 satellites?
When I click on the "V" on the left and make it "V+" so that I can correct the uplink and downlink frequencies, I try to change the frequency using the up and down arrows under the 20, 100, 500, 1k and 5k labels. But it only changes the downlink. Why?
Once I can hear my downlink and I toggle the "V" back to "V-" then how do I save the corrected frequencies to Doppler.SQF
What if I want to use SatPC32 to tune around the passband and look for other stations? What are the steps for that?
I want the Countdown window to attach to the right. It does that on one computer, but attaches to the left on another.
I am using my FT817, and have the CAT working. When listening to FO-29, I try to tune the VFO but it keeps putting me back on the frequency shown in SatPC32.
Another weird behavior...in CAT control mode, it keeps jumping between uplink and downlink frequencies. How do I stop this? Is that the special FT817 configuration I need to use?

Mark:
SatPC32 is a very powerful program, but many aspects of it are not at all intuitive or easy to decipher. I'll try my best to answer your questions. I'm still working out some kinks in my own setup, but I've learned a bit about it in the process.
As far as I know yes, you're limited to satellites A-L regardless of registration.
I think the up/down arrows to the right of the frequencies must be for downlink correction (thus it doesn't change the uplink).
Turning on V+ means that tuning the radio will feed those freqs back to SatPC32, rather than just SatPC32 to the radio. If you're tuning the radio's VFO but the computer keeps changing the radio back, then you need to turn V+ on.
To save your corrected freqs to Doppler.SQL, open the CAT menu and hit "Change/Store Dataf File", then save either the uplink correction or the frequencies, or both. It's my understanding that you want to find the right uplink correction and store that instead of the downlink correction (although that's a bit more complicated when using a single 817).
Once you have the uplink calibrated, you can tune around the passband either by turning on V+ and using the radio's knob, or use the arrow keys (and numeric keypad) on the computer's keyboard.
With a single 817, it sets the rig into split mode where it uses VFO A for receive and VFO B for transmit. It cannot tune a VFO that's not being displayed, so in order to tune the transmit it's got to switch from A (receive VFO) to B (transmit VFO), make the tuning adjustment, then switch back to A. Yes, it's very annoying. There's also (small?) risk of transmitting on the receive VFO, which could toast an external preamp if you have one installed. I solved this problem by using TWO 817s.

You are not limited to only 12 satellites on SatPC. There are satellite groups (I believe 6) which can hold 12 each. When you go under the satellite label, you'll see the name of the various groups.

To expand on my last comment, it looks like you can put in at least 12 groups. That adds up to a lot of satellites.

Mark,
A single FT-817 does not lend itself to satellite operations. Most people use two. However, Mark, WA8SME came up with a small device which sits in the CAT line and improves single rig operation. You can/could get it from the ARRL Online Store:
http://www.arrl.org/news/ft-817-satellite-interface-available-as-a-kit
It is a very simple kit, and Mark gives excellent tech support.
