Can someone give me hand with predict under LINUX
+ Install predict - done + Define QTH - done + Reduce satellite tracking list to just ISS / SO-50 and AO-51 (to do)
I will work out the keps location and how to script that bit
I have scripts that can query preidict in server mode

predict.tle
See my other email for details. You should have a directory in your home directory, called .predict You'll find it there.

Hi Andrew,
As Ian noted, the three configuration files are in .predict in your home directory. The 24 entries in predict.tle are the ones displayed, in that order. You can truncate that file and display less. Is that what you're after?
The Multiple screen just shows the set of 24 satellites (2 columns of 12). Many of mine are out of date, but I just ignore them. When something new gets launched, I replace one of them with the new entry (using the "E" keyboard edit of TLE), being sure to get the object number correct. Then the normal Update process takes over from there.

Hi Andrew,
Take a look here:
http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/tools/softwareArchive.php
Down in the Utility Programs sections, there are some old but still useful programs which simplify taming Kep distributions. NASAWASH removes extraneous lines and does some other cleanup. SORTNENG will take a full set and spit out a reduced set which has only the ones you need. I use them to feed new Keps to programs like PREDICT via a batch file. They are both DOS programs, and I have used them up through VISTA with no problem.

There will be a directory in your home directory called .predict
In there, you'll find predict.qth, predict.db, and predict.tle
