I noticed the Iranian satellite payload on their recent launch contained many Mini-Circuits modules. I wonder how that came about?
A very good friend of mine was on a Russian submarine a few years ago for a missile launch (they have a setup with submarine launched missiles to put satellites in orbit).
The Russians let him take pictures every where in the "control room"...including the Garmin GPS receivers.
With what the last administration let the PRC get away with in the name of making the Dreamliner...ITAR is a big joke.

Are these RF modules classified as ITAR or as Dual Use ? If they are Dual Use, the EAR De Minimis rule applies, which means that if the price of the components is less than 10% of the total price of the payload, no export licences are required for the Mini-Circuits US manufacturer.
