Kenwood TS-710 for Falconsat?
All:
Has anyone used the Kenwood TS-710 series radios with their internal TNC's to work Falconsat or any of the Pacsats of the past? I believe it has full-duplex capability, but I'm not sure if the internal TNC can be active on both VHF and UHF.
If it does meet this criteria, then the only thing to do would be to connect the rig to a PC running Wisp. Talk about plug-n-play!

Just be warey of doppler shift
I drive my radios using a satellite program.
I also do SDR
Without doppler you are going to loose part of your pass.
Is the TS-710 9600 baud ?
I get fantastic results with 8 kHz bandwidth

Andy:
I use Ham Radio Deluxe for satellite tracking and Doppler correction. I don't see the TM-710 rig control list, so it may not work. I'm guessing it might if one selects one of the other Kenwood radios.
Thanks,

Kenwood mobile radios and HTs only have 5 kHz steps and no PC frequency tune. You have to manually tune, but it works OK. You might miss a packet or two while tuning, though.

Bummer Paul -- at least it's still doable with manual tuning.

The TM-D710 can do full duplex with it's internal TNC. Include "FU ON" in the KISS initialization string (which essentially just turns off DCD sense).
I plan to attempt this with my TH-D72 either tonight or later this weekend. The TH-D7A will do full duplex in standalone APRS mode, but not in packet mode.
