Hi Bill, NZ5N
I was looking at the schematic diagram http://www.hamcity.com/store/pc/catalog/pdf/220vconversion.pdf
As I suspected the transformer has 4 wires coming off from the primary windings.
In my opinion the transformer has two identical primary windings to work in parallel from 100 to 117 volt and in series with 220 volt
For 100 or 117 volt jump terminal 0 to terminal 2 and terminal 1 to terminal 3 so that both primary windings are in parallel and in phase after that connect the 117 volt line to terminals 0 and 1 or 2 and 3
For 220 volt jump terminal 1 to terminal 2 and connect the 220 volt line to terminals 0 and 3

Here is the mod to change Yaesu rotors to 220v: http://www.hamcity.com/store/pc/catalog/pdf/220vconversion.pdf
But perhaps yours has a different transformer if it uses pin 3 for 117v.
In
the mod, pins 0 and 3 are for 220v.

Subject: [amsat-bb] G5500 change voltage supply
I have purchased a G5500. The control box have a 117Vac label in the real panel. I opened it and a wire is connected through the fuse to the terminal number 3 of the KT-30 transformer and the other wire through the main switch to the terminal number 1 of the KT-30 transformer.
I am wondering how I should connect it to work with 220Vac in Europe.
Thanks in advance. ea4cyq@amsat.org
