HABGab 2023, a High Altitude Balloon (HAB) that can be used by hams as a repeater to talk (Gab) with one another, is expected to be launched midday Saturday for a 2-3 hour mission. Also on board are several experiments built by middle school students to evaluate stratospheric aerodynamics and chemistry. They plan to deploy a glider and a helicopter at 80,000 feet. The repeater should be usable throughout most of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and possibly parts of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

A second launch window Sunday midday is being held in case of weather or technical issues tomorrow.
