Confusion over VUCC criteria
I checked the web page for VUCC, and it says no active satellites or repeaters can be used for the award. Whoops, maybe I misunderstood but I thought these SAT QSO's, once confirmed, would count towards VUCC.

Mark, you must have looked at Logbook of the World (LoTW) which doesn't support VUCC at all. You need to do it the old fashioned way; collect cards and send them to an ARRL approved card checker. If you are wondering when LoTW is going to support VUCC, here is a 'response' I received from their president concerning this:
From: dsumner@arrl.org Subject: RE: VUCC on LoTW Date: September 10, 2008 4:58:35 PM EDT To: w4as@miamisky.com
Sebastian,
The reason for the delay is simply programming priorities. We realize there are many members who would like to use LoTW credits for VUCC -- I would like to myself!

Hi Mark,
Satellite contacts do not count towards a "normal" VUCC but there is a separate VUCC for satellite-only contacts. For satellite VUCC, you can even count HF contacts via modes A, K, and T.

Mark,
Here is the pdf file url. Read section 4. (b) and (c). I hope that explains it for you. Also, look at (e), that explains the rule for ROVERS giving us all those rare grid squares. These rules are DIFFERENT from the VHF rules for rovers and grid confirmations.
See you on the birds, Rick
