Hello All,
I ran into an old friend this morning. He is someone I Elmered into his general class a few years back. He has been inactive for some time but gave me the indication he'd like to get back on the air. One problem.... He has let his license expire. I have personally been away from the VE Program for a long time as well and I don't know, considering all the recent changes, if there is a "grace period" or must he retest?
Thanks for any info and please excuse the use of the BB when it's not fully satellite related. This young man was interested in sats when he first was licensed so perhaps if we can get him back we'll gain a new AMSAT member. I can hope can't I? He did in fact, work RS-10 from my station and still talks about it to this day!!

Hi Frank. Depending on how long the license has been expired will determine if he can get it back. According to the ARRL (http://www.arrl.org/arrlvec/renewals.html) you can renew your license up to two years after expiration.
