Hi Dave. I did not know KX4Y, but did work him a few times on AO-40. I was digging around on the computer a came across an audio file which Dieter is net control on the once famed "AMSAT plus 40 net", it is about 9 minutes in length and under 4mb made me realize just how much I miss AO-40, sad to say we have lost 2 friends that will not be around for the next HEO I hope we don't loss anymore before the next on gets up.

Yes, I started that net on O10, and Dieter helped me continue it on AO40. It was a sharing of information about our families and other hobbies and interests, and the global nature gave us a good look at the world...We met many people that cemented world wide friendships..
Perhaps some miracle will allow it to happen again...

Dieter K. Schliemann Dieter K. Schliemann, 68 of Scottsboro, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, at 11 a.m. from Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tina; children, Bernd and wife, Bianca of Belchertown, Mass.; grandchildren, Rebecca and Eric Ute of Hinesburg, Vt., Mark and Kristen, Frank and wife Gayle of Montpelier, Vt. and Arnoul and wife Edrie of Randburn, South Africa; granddaughter, Shannon; two sisters and one brother.
Dieter was President of the Scottsboro Ham Radio Club. He was active in satellite communications involving school contacts with the International Space Station worldwide.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of North Alabama, LLC, 311 Bob Wallace Ave., Ste. 101, Huntsville, AL 35805 or a favorite charity.
