Looking at the ao-51 sked and various postings on the BB, I assume that the only hams that will hear the D/L are in NA presumably the transponder will be off for the rest of the WorldRegards Robert G8ATE (GB5OSO) _________________________________________________________________ The next generation of MSN Hotmail has arrived - Windows Live Hotmail http://www.newhotmail.co.uk
Hello Robert,
You are correct.
AO-51 will return to 'normal' V/U analog and V/U digital modes around 0510Z 4 Oct 2007.
So for about 5 hours, only North America will have transmissions from AO-51.
As Drew posted on Oct 2, "Since there is no way to store audio onboard the satellite, we are relaying it from ground stations across the US and Canada. I offered it to some European stations who declined due to differences in amateur radio regulations in their countries. However if there are any well equipped AO-40 class L band stations with the ability to playback an audio .wav file that are available between the start and finish of the event, and that are personally known to me, I will share the information and file with them. Interested stations should contact me directly, as soon as possible." his address is ko4ma@amsat.org
