Hello there. Can someone tell me when the Iss repeater will be active. My thought's are that if Oscar 51 is sick just now wouldn't it be nice to use the repeater on the Iss. Or is the repeater used only for School's chat's?.

Kev,
I believe the decision is made by the ISS crew. This website tracks the current status and may give clues to upcoming events: http://www.issfanclub.com/
I believe that most of the time the station works in digipeater mode. I have been experimenting with using this over the past couple of weeks and its really kinda neat. It only requires a single-band radio, a fixed antenna, and a TNC. http://home.comcast.net/~k9jkm/ARISS_Packet_How_To/ has great instructions on getting started.
AO-27 and SO-50 offer full-time FM repeaters. 73 de AJ4MJ On Sun, May 8, 2011 at 3:21 PM, mm0kjg mm0kjg@googlemail.com wrote:
