will operate tonight's SO-50 pass over FN42 at 2342 EST / 0442 Z
I'm really hankering to make some satellite contacts ASAP. Looks like the last workable pass of the evening over my location is for SO-50 at 23:42 EST, or 04:42 UTC. Looks like a nice pass, 60+ degrees max elevation. I'll be giving it a shot.
Rick and Jeremy, I cc'd you because you offered a sked. Sorry for the late notice! If you can't make this time, don't worry at all -- I'll be trying again over the weekend, and will give more than an hour's heads-up next time. And Rick, I *think* the first few minutes of the pass has you in the footprint, but I'm not sure.
Thanks again, all! & 73 -chris N2YYZ FN42
Wow ! It worked!
This time the only thing holding me back was lack of operator skill. Jerry W0SAT was on SO-50. I know he copied at least my suffix and my grid square. Unfortunately I don't think we managed to complete a QSO -- I lost the satellite while it was directly overhead and never heard my signal report.
What a rush. I'll definitely be on the birds tomorrow.

Congrats! Yes that first contact is a rush without a doubt! I just started myself little more than a month ago, and the rush is still there! Biggest rush thus far for me was the ISS crew contact using simplex, to Col Doug Wheelock. Hope to hear you on the birds soon! I'll be working passes as I can as well this weekend.
