Request for a file of amateur satellite frequencies
Hi All,
This may seem odd but I cannot seem to locate any website that has a simple list of ACTIVE satellites with data showing:
Name ID number Up/Down Frequencies Modes or modulation info maybe output power and?? other info
It would be a really useful checksheet to have by you when operating portable and, I am told that, if it were created in an xml format, it could be searchable by machines as well as humans!
If there is not such a list in existence perhaps the experts meeting at Orlando this weekend could create something for us?
many thanks

Hi,
That's what I was proposing at the colloquium too.
It's easy to set up but someone would have to maintain it :-)

It's one of the features that are planned for HamSatDroid but it could also be exposed as a service too.

Does anyone know when the next version of HamSatDroid will be released? I know it will not be free but I think the program is worth paying for and we need to support the efforts of individuals that are writting quality code for Android devices.
Thanks,

Hi,
HSD in the works at the moment.
Subject to other developments on:
Strand-1 Data App (to fly on the phone) FUNcube 1&2 Data Warehouse
Thanks to all for all the feedback on HSD. In reality, mid December for HSD updates.

Graham,
I thought there was a request in the 2012 IARU Satellite Forum held at Guildford for a volunteer to create such a database ? I don't know if any volunteers have come forward yet.
I am not aware of anything online that gives concise information on one page as to which satellites have been launched, the frequencies they use and which are still operational.
As Peter has mentioned the AMSAT-DL website provides a really excellent reference. It does though require you following the links to find Downlink frequencies. Uplinks aren't always given on the linked pages and arguably Uplinks such as control channels "use" frequencies just as much as Downlinks. Of course determining operational status could be problematic.

Hi All,
Many thanks to everyone who responded to my plea!
As a result of it, with JE9PEL's agreement, we have created an abstract from his master list of all amateur satellites so as to include just those ones that are active.
It is available here http://www.uk.amsat.org/?page_id=11251
The benefit of this is that it fits nicely on a single sheet of A4 paper and can therefore easily be stuck on the wall of the shack right behind the radio. I know that this is an old fashioned concept but it has already helped me work out the likely spacecraft when looking at signals showing up the waterfall display on the screen using an FCD+ and SDR#
The challenge will, of course, be to keep it uptodate and hopefully someone will be willing to take on the task of setting up and maintaining a proper database.
best wishes
