Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if when operating odd-split (rx on 440, then when you press the PTT is switches to 2m. Aka half-duplex) using the 857 if it is possible to control not only the downlink, but also the uplink when you press the PTT?

Zack,
As far as I have observed in operating the FT857's I have, CAT does not update anything when in transmit mode. My downlink radio updates at the programmed frequency delta but my uplink radio only updates when you let go of the PTT.

That is what I am gathering, so it sounds like I am going to need to look for an uplink radio as well.
This equipment is not for me - I am heading sat operations for Field Day, so I am trying to get us on the linear birds for the event.
Thanks for the responses!

Exchanges are so rapid on Field Day that, except at TCA, it won't matter that the uplink frequency doesn't update until you let off the PTT.
