We are just about finished with the reload, and after collecting a little more WOD telemetry and uploading the SQRX software we will turn the repeater back on. I'm sorry if the updates have been slim, but with this happening during Dayton with 2/3rds of the command team away from home, it's been a hectic week between AMSAT and our day jobs. Take the time to enjoy a few of the lesser used satellites, and 51 will be back before you can say ECHO LIMA EIGHTY EIGHT.

Thanks to you and everyone for your efforts. It's been 11 months since my first-ever satellite contact. In that time, I believe this is only the third time that AO-51 has suffered an issue that required a software reload. Given the tremendous conditions that little satellite and all the others endure non-stop in orbit, its record of service is remarkable to me.
I appreciate your efforts and those of the other control operators very much.
73 to all,

The repeater is up and open for use. User access to the BBS is -not- setup as of yet but will be soon. If you hear WA6FWF or WA4SXM on the air, give them a big thank you for getting AO-51 back on the air ASAP.

Hello,
thanks to some of you I could add quite some more interesting recordings to our "Sounds from Space" collection of various satellites. You can find the audio files at www.dd1us.de
What I am especially missing are recordings of:
AMSAT OSCAR 2 ... AMSAT OSCAR 8 Radio Sputnik 2 ... Radio Sputnik 6 ISKRA 1 ... ISKRA 3
If someone of you (most likely he needs to be a real oldtimer) has some recordings of these satellites, please drop me a note a dd1us@amsat.org.
I can also handle tapes and cassettes ... whatever you might have should be ok.
Many thanks in advance
Matthias
