Linear will do too. I've got it right-handed, as it turns out, so it looks like I'm all set. Thanks!

Hi folks,
Ok, in a little panic here... Building a helix to get a bit more gain on the AO-51 mode L uplink, and I just realized that I don't know if it should be Left or Right-hand polarized. Which way should it go?
Thanks,
Greg KO6TH

Hi folks,
Well, the new antenna isn't built yet, but the satellite is in LU, and I still have the old antenna (9 element Quagi, crudely built from the ARRL Antenna Book) up on the rotisserie.
The 8:40pm pass went nearly over head, and I could hear my return clearly when the bird was above about 20 degrees. This is with 10w in the shack, which is 60' of 1/2" hardline plus 10' of RG8 away from the above mentioned Quagi. Tuning was fairly easy - I have computer control for the downlink rig, and I just tuned the uplink for clarity. Seems that I had to tune about 5khz high for best results. There was some QSB evident, but not too bad. The Quagi is, of course, a linear antenna, and is mounted horizontally polarized, and my downlink UHF antenna is 2x8 RHCP with a small preamp at the feed point.
The only problem I ran into was that the only QSO I had was with myself. Nobody else on!
