Any idea how far east this may travel? WB8PFZ On Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 07:03:41 PM EST, Kees Van Oosbree via AMSAT-BB amsat-bb@amsat.org wrote:
Hello all, This message below is to any ham in the Midwest: To wrap up our semester of activities, CARC at Iowa State University (W0ISU) will be launching an experimental amateur radio payload on a high altitude balloon in conjunction with the HABET M2I engineering group this Saturday, December 7th. The payload will consist of a FM voice crossband repeater controller coupled to a set of VHF/UHF handheld radios using a BNC whip antenna. The uplink TX frequency will be 446.375 MHz, while the downlink RX frequency will be on 146.480 MHz (no tones for both). The payload is estimated to be in the air around 8:30 am central time. CARC will operate the payload in a CQ style fashion so that new members can make as many contacts as possible across the Midwest. Please be courteous when responding to our calls. Feel free to disseminate this message to other amateurs across the Midwest. Looking forward to hearing you on the air. Thank you, 73 de W0AAE
