Welcome Jack! I personally have found AMSAT membership to be worthwhile. With or without a Phase III bird I'll continue to support AMSAT as long as I am active in this aspect of the hobby.

Lots of folks answered "why" you should join AMSAT, and I agree with them. But I believe you asked "how" can you join.
Visit the AMSAT web site. Then go to the "Store" tab and, under product index, you will find a link to join.
