Celebrating over 50 Years in Ham Radio No. 1 Honor Roll
Hello John,
There is current information about ARISSat on the front page of the AMSAT Web site. We will use the AMSAT Web site as well as weekly ANS bulletins to release information about ARISSat during the next three weeks.
Launch to the ISS 28 Jan 2011 EVA to deploy ARISSat on 16 Feb 2011. The transmitter will turn on 15 minutes after the safety switches are activated. The procedure is to activate the safety switches then push the satellite away from the ISS.

Hello Andrew,
The power output is 500mW for the 40 kHz bandwidth, with about 250mW in the FM signal. At a 350 km altitude this should provide a good signal on earth. We expect a handheld 2m FM radio with a handheld antenna should work well.
