Please record our ARISS contact Monday February 5th!
Hi amsat-bb!
I am leading the ham team for an ARISS contact here in Raleigh and we are using my callsign for the contact. I would appreciate any audio recordings you can make of the pass, especially the part where Astronaut Scott Tingle hopefully says my callsign :-) I will be recording on both our primary and backup stations but you never know if we'll get a fade in the beginning.
They will be on the Kenwood D710E in the service module with 50 watts so it should be a good signal.
Moore Square AIG/GT Magnet School, Raleigh, NC, direct via KG4AKV The ISS callsign is presently scheduled to be NA1SS (***) The scheduled astronaut is Scott Tingle KG5NZA (***) Contact is a go for: Mon 2018-02-05 18:32:06 UTC 25 deg (***)
FWIW, AFAIK there is no livestreaming planned. If there is I'll let people know.

John,
This is a marginal pass here in 2-Land but I’d be happy to give recording a try.

Hi John -- don't know if you've heard of SatNOGS[1] -- it's a global network of open source, networked DIY satellite ground stations. A number of stations recorded yesterday's contact with the Batesville, AR school[2], and I'm sure they'll be scheduling recordings for next week's pass as well.
Congrats on leading the team, and good luck with the contact!
Best, Hugh

Also if you could record a video of your reception that would be cool too as I'm sure the students would get a kick out of seeing how others from far away could hear the contact too.
