ANS-322 AMSAT News Service Weekly Bulletins SATPC32 FILES ERROR
It looks like the SATPC32 frequency/DOPPLER files for the Sats listed have reversed the frequencies. 73 Christy KB6LTY
Christy, KB6LTY, recently wrote that the Frequency/Doppler files published in the last issue of ANS have the uplink and downlink frequencies reversed in the files format. The information at the bottom of the Doppler.SQF file, in SATPC32, states: ; Each line has to contain the following parameters: ; The name of the satellite, the spelling has to be the same as in the Keplerian ; source file. ; the receive- and transmit frequencies in kHz, ; the Up- and Downlink modes, possible entries: FM,FMN,CW,CWN,USB,LSB, ; the frequency trend of the satellite (normal or reverse), possible entries: NOR, REV ; the converter and transverer offset frequencies in kHz
If the receive frequency should be the first frequency listed in file, and the transmit frequency the second, then this observation seems accurate. and the frequencies need to changed before being copied. What is confusing is the description of the modes is suggested as the reverse, "Up and Down frequency modes".So my questions are: Does it matter which is first and which is second (it makes sense it should)? Is the data correct as listed in the ANS or do these need to be revised?
The following is the data as published:
Copy and paste the following lines into the "Doppler.SQF" folder: FOX1-Cliff,435300.0,145920.0,FM,FM,NOR,0,0,FM U/V FOX1-Cliff,1267300.0,145920.0,FM,FM,NOR,0,0,FM L/V ESEO,1263500.0,145895.0,FM,FM,NOR,0,0,FM L/V K2SAT,145980.0,435835.0,FM,FM,NOR,0,0,FM V/U ExseedSat,435340.0,145900.0,FM,FM,NOR,0,0,FM U/V JY1SAT,435110.0,1459865.0,USB,LSB,REV,0,0,CW/SSB Transponder JY1SAT,145840,0,USB,USB,NOR,0,0,Beacon
