I have not actually made a contact on VO-52 but I tried last pass. The person I tried to contact indicated that it sounded like someone (I assume me) was possibly on the wrong sideband. Should I be transmitting and receiving in upper sideband? I can sort of hear myself come back, but I sound off frequency. I am using TRX-Manager and Nova help with the Doppler Effect.
Any comments are appreciated as I am new at satellites. I am going to try again next pass.

VO-52 is an inverting transponder, which means the SSB sense is flipped from upper to lower and vice versa. Also the frequencies are flipped. What goes in as LSB on the bottom edge of the transponder comes out as USB on the top edge, if that makes sense. Doing it this way helps cancel some of the Doppler shift as seen from the ground. The convention on inverting transponders is LSB up, USB down.

Hi Mike, W0PD
Use LSB in uplink 70 cm and USB in downlink 2 meters.
