Preferred software for Mac OS
Hello, It's Rob ZL2IW here... Sorry to ask a dumb question.. if one or two could reply to me that would be enough, and greatly appreciated... I am migrating from a Windows laptop, to a Mac OS laptop for most of my day to day work...
Just wondering what software is recommended for SSTV decoding, satellite tracking, and rig control. Rig will most likely be an old 9100
Have come across MacDoppler, but not sure if this decodes SSTV.. Yes, I am trying to work up a decent solution for the SSTV images from the ISS :)
Thanks and all the best, Rob
Hi Rob: I use MacDoppler for tracking and rig control when I want my laptop hooked up in the shack.
I use a http://www.csntechnologies.net/sat when I want the radio to be recording odd hour passes as in the current ARISS SSTV campaign.
I use https://www.blackcatsystems.com/software/sstv.html for decoding SSTV images. It will ingest recorded sound files from my IC-9700 and TH-D74 for playback.
I haven't had good luck yet with it using the USB interface directly to the IC-9700. The images look very noisy. I suspect I'm using the wrong sound card settings. 73, Will
