Hi Bill and Other Folks,
To decode STRaND-1:
1-Sprint-2 TNC at 9600 baud in KISS mode (or any 9600 in KISS mode probably)
For software, thank DK3WN of course!
2-Using this software to capture: http://www.dk3wn.info/files/online_kiss_plus.zip
3-And using this software to decode the captured KISS files: http://www.dk3wn.info/files/kissdump.zip

Congrats, Hector.
I printed several STRaND-1 packets and need to figure out what to do with them ;)
Which TLEs did you use? Based on timestamps and scrolling time back in SatPC32, it looks to me like the bird might be behind the pre-launch keps I'm using. Meaning, I see packets time stamped at the predicted LOS. I was NOT in the shack, but that's my guess based on time stamps.

On the 22:36 UTC pass both STRaND-1 and AAUSAT3 have been heard in Cienfuegos city (EL92sd). I was running a FUNcube Dongle with SDR-Radio V1.5 and a homebrew ARROW antenna with a homebrew preamplifier. The STRaND-1 beacon has a great signal (S9+).
Congratulations to the STRaND-1 and AAUSAT3 teams for the great job!

Hi Mark,
Thanks for this. Do you have any idea if there is a suitable software based TNC??

Look at http://www.pe0sat.vgnet.nl/satellite/cube-nano-picosats/strand-1/ I used configuration that is on the bottom of the page.
I just decoded more then 120 frames with this setup.

Hi Jim,
While I haven't used AGW Packet Engine with STRaND-1, I have done this with other 9600 birds. It *should* work just fine.
First, get AGW Packet Engine to work. Reminder--we cannot use our microphone jack, external speaker, or 1200 baud stuff. Has to be 9600 packet compatible rig connection of course..and many sound card interfaces will NOT work, as they filter out the good stuff :)
Then, use AGW Online KISS (instead of Online KISS+). http://www.dk3wn.info/files/agw_online_kiss.zip
Then, feed the KSS files captured from above to KISS Dump+ (link below).
Read here...scroll til you find AGW Online KISS.

Jim,
In the past I have used MixW, which emulates a KISS TNC out a serial port, which can then be piped via real or virtual ports to the software. Worked fine at both 1200 and 9600 baud. I think there is a 15 or 30 day free trial. AGWPE has also been reported to work, though I have not tried it. Unfortunately my current wonder-rig does not currently allow 9600 baud, though they are going to have that capability Real Soon Now.
