Re: AMSAT-BB Digest, Vol 3, Issue 638
Speaking of recording the passes on a digital recorder (MP3), can anyone recommend an inexpensive mp3 recorder that will allow you to record direct from an HT's audio output line?
Thanks, Tim KC2DDS

Hey Tim,
I believe most all of the currently available digital recorders will handle MP3 recording. The little recorder I use is too old for that, but I found some freeware on the Web called Kat MP3 Recorder that I'm enjoying very much for a couple of reasons:
1 - It's pretty full featured.
2 - It records durect to an MP3 file.
I like this approach because it allows me to edit pretty much on the fly. If I have a contact in the middle of a pass that I want to save, I can note the start and end time on the recorder, then "edit on the fly" use the Kat software.
