I managed to operate the special event station BT3WX to work several E2, BY, VR2, XX9 throughout the evening pass of XW-1 using the FM transponder. It was the 1st test open of this bird's transponder. Everything works just great!

This is really exciting, Michael! We're delighted that the FM transponder is working. With such a big footprint it will be a remarkable experience for newcomers and oldtimers alike.
For my part, my QTH in Maritime (Eastern) Canada will have a 3 deg. elevation view to the XW-1 at the same time that Moscow, Russia has a 3 deg. elevation view. Imagine that FM to FM!
