Just got back from Dayton had a very good time. The A.M.S.A.T demonstration outside was great ! They tried for the I.S.S. but the system was not working on board. Ten minutes later AO-27 came around and Mark N8MH made several contacts. Now I see why I need a voice recorder . Astronaut Wheelock was there but did not get his autograph. Martha did an excellent job with the crowd. I got my elk antenna from A.M.S.A.T talking to Martha she said they were selling fast. The weather was great Sunny and very warm, with a slight breeze. The only thing bad about it was the lack of restrooms. They had all the restrooms closed everywhere I went. Got back to Toledo....rain,chilly and gloomy :(

I took my wife's and my QSL card from November QSO's, and the Colonel signed those. When I told him I was "Tom from Grand Rapids..:, he interrupted me and said, "You were the one that brought up Roger Chaffee. Thank you for that". Whew. He remembers a lot of stuff. BTW, my buddies watched and video taped me with the Colonel. Said I was like a 8 year kid. I was... Fun time... de tom K8TB

I was able to meet up with Col. Wheelock as well - that was so cool! We stood in a 20 MINUTE - not hour - line, and I was able to get his signature on the boom of my Arrow antenna - the same antenna I worked him on last July. I have a few pics of it on my blog: http://kd8ksn.blogspot.com/ I am contemplating what I want to do with the boom right now. I certainly don't want that to fade!
