Is anyone seeing the error "Compression Program Missing" when sending a file with Wisp Message Maker? Apparently, the compression program (PKZIP?) is missing from the Wisp directory.

Have not seen that error message, but I've only tried to upload small text files.
On page-7 of the "AMSAT-2005-WISP-guide.pdf", it appears that you can control when (or if) PKZIP is called for. There is an option to set that to "None", or you could make the auto-compress threshold larger. However, at least from my location, I think only small messages will upload/download.

You need to put a copy of PKZIP in your WiSP directory. I have a copy here somewhere, when I can finally get the time since moving down here for the winter to set WiSP up myself I will dig it out and send it to you, if needed.
