I have been trying to find a used Eggbeater or similar antenna to use to listen for Satellites. The exchange on the USD to CND currency is a killer. I noticed many plans to build one on the internet. Any suggestions which one would be worth trying for RX to start?

To be honest, I had better results using a 1/4 wave ground plane antenna (the kind you make with an SO-239 panel mount fitting and 4 radials) than the typical "rectangular" DIY eggbeater (using exclusively with satellites). I would recommend making a QFH.
