I like to share a project I recently made for my 2 FT-817's (which is compatible with the FT-857 en 897 too). This controller connected to both radio's, (can be 2 different 8xx's too), will make a full satellite "rig".

It has pre programmed satellites with their frequencies and modes. When selecting a satellite, both radio's are initialized as the uplink and downlink radio. Also the controller will switch the microphone and headphone to the correct radio. So no need for unplugging anymore.
