Sad to hear that John is gone. He was one of the first QSO's I had in 1993 on RS10. After that we had QSOs on many of the satellites.
I also remember him from the AMSAT-UK Colloquia where he helped to introduce new users to satellites. Always friendly and good to talk with.
The last 3 to 4 years we have exchanged e-mails of a more private character.
My thoughts goes to his family.
