Roaming Oahu and Maui
Just a reminder ...... I will be in Hawaii December 3 - 14 and will on two islands, Oahu and Maui. I hope to rove BL01, BL10 and BL11. The Hawaiian Islands appear to have ten (10) different grids and I hope I could work all of them. I can only work FM satellites AO91 and AO92. I will also listen for Lilisat-2 but haven't any success in my home Grids of CN87. Has anyone worked Hawaii from the West Coast? I will be trying from Bellows AFS or the Pali Lookout or another spot on Oahu with some of the low east (for me) facing orbits.

John, if the footprint hits HA and the west coast, you will get lots of action. It happens.
(Pali will be very windy most of the time (lots of traffic noise)....hard to hear and hold the antenna)
Have fun...we are jealous !!!

John,
I worked N7AGF via AO91 while he was in Hawaii in March this year. He was in BK29gq and I was in EM12ek for the QSO. The pass was about 0.5 degrees maximum elevation for myself and a couple of degree for him. The pass lasted about three minutes but I could hear him well as soon as AO91 was at AOS. That QSO is still the longest QSO I have ever done! Unfortunately, it was outside of my WAS radius for my QTH in EM12px, so I couldn't count it for that. There have been passes of AO91 that could work from EM12px but I have not been working on arranging a sked. I'm afraid there are no passes available for me during the dates you are in Hawaii.
