Another reminder that flight is never routine.

Spaceflight will be routine. However, routine is not defined as 100% safe. Even driving down the street is not 100% safe, but it is routine.

Rough week for pace travel.
Not routine yet. Routine leads to careless actions. We are still learning.

Bryce,
In nearly 40 years as a pilot, both military and commercial, I had many uneventful flights, but none I treated as routine.

My $0.02
Routine: performed as part of a regular procedure rather than for a special reason.
Does not imply completely safe. Spaceflight will be routine when people no longer care about a rocket launch happening. It's a sad thought but how many people look up at a plane flying overhead today?
Very few.
