IC-9100 + SATPC32. My IC910 is on its last legs, now no speaker output. The 9100 has a big price tag and a lot of features I am not interested in. I have been toying with the idea of adding a second IC7000, one for TX the other for RX. The first glitch I see is the CAT code for FM (04) on the 910 and the IC7000 (05) are different, the 9100 and the IC7000 use the same. Any one have any thoughts?? I Have a IC7000, two are cheaper than a 9100!!

Tom, I believe you can use 2 different rigs. There is a code on the 910 that allows the second rig to be controlled by SATPC32. Look at the help info of the program and it will explain what you must do. Anyone else have done this already? I just came across this when I had to reset my IC-910 at Field day as it wasn't taking commands from the computer. Good Luck and let us know on the BB if you were able to get this done. Also-I was correct- another person that is dis-satisfied with the price tag of the 9100... 73, Dee, NB2F

Hello Tom, the IC-910H manual mentions code 4 ( = command 6, sub command 4) for FM, the manuals of other Icom radios (IC-821H, IC-706MKIIG, IC-7000, IC-9100) mention command 6, sub command 5 for FM. Actually SatPC32 uses sub command 5 also with the IC-910H (with further parameters for FM and FMN). I have tested the IC-910H and IC-706MKIIG and the IC-910H with the IC-821H as single radios for uplink and downlink and that works. In the Radio 1 section of menu Radio Setup choose the RX radio for model and set the first address for this radio, the second for the TX radio. Satellite mode must be unchecked. Autom. Rx/Tx change can be activated.
