I just today started my portable operations on the FM birds...What is the recommended manner to log my portable contacts into LoTW from my N3FJP logging program? Do I need a new callsign certificate with a /P and then add station locations for each grid I work, or is there a better way to do this...

This actually was being discussed earlier this week. See this thread:

Short answer is you don't need to request a new certificate. I would just use your call without any /.
Yes, add a new station per grid square.
I'm not sure how to use N3FJP with LoTW for sats though. The important part is getting it to set the following ADIF fields:
Propagation Mode: <PROP_MODE:3>SAT Satellite Name: <SAT_NAME:4>AO-7
If it can't do that then you'll have to manually edit the ADIF it exports.

No, I'm not having a midlife crisis.
I finally got my antennas set up for satellite work and have been having fun the past few days. I can hear the birds great and have made a handfull of QSOs on both linear and FM satellites. What I could use help with though is hints and tips for syncing up my signal on the linear satellites. I am using a TS-2000 and SatPC32. Currently, I'm just intermittently saying 'test' while using the keyboard + and - keys to move my signal up and down while listening to hear myself. I've had moderate luck, but it's been simply a matter of trail and error as my correction factor has been +/- 3000 to get to where I hear myself, and I never seem to sound like a normal signal when I do finally hear myself. It's like I can never get it fine tuned, though I'm getting good reports. I just want to see if there's a better way to locate my signal.

In ACLog (N3FJP) it's just a matter of changing "Other" fields to PROP_MODE and SAT_NAME. The character count is not needed in the form.
