Hi, wonder if there any tracking programs one can use on there Blackberry storm as an application?. 73 de VE6ITV Scott
Not a tracking one, but one that can send and receive APRS mssages I think. We hope someone will write these kinds of APRS messaging applications on all wireless devices so hams can stay in touch by callsign anywhere, any time.
See the Blackberry link on the Universal Ham Text Messaging Initiative www.aprs.org/aprs-messaging.html
OOPs, I thought he was thinking APRS tracking... sorry, I see now it is OSCAR tracking... and we are here on the AMSAT-bb and not the APRSSIG... But anyway, the Universal Text messaging objecive is across all platforms and all services, so it will apply to AMSAT operators too who need to text message someone else anywhere anytime using any device they may have in their hands.

No CrackBerry solution for you but I recommend PocketSat + on any old Palm or PocketPC
These old Palm's are available for free for the asking. If you are a smartphone or RIM user you probably had a Palm and it is now stuck in a drawer some where. Or, just ask around those who are using the newer PDA's to see if they have an old one lying around.
I just sold my oldest Palm at a ham flea market 2 weekends ago for $10CN and kept my still really old Palm IIIxe just for PocketSat and Field Day use.

I got a Palm m105 a "bit" more than 10cnd few months ago...Anyway i was planning to use it with the PCR 1000 on the road instead of having to bring a laptop but i stumble with a "minor" glitch...batteries as soon as they go down you loose all your memory contents...A bit annoying but it's old technology now.
BTW Scott thank's for the QSO on AO-51 V/S mode Sunday
