Hi,
as far as I know the bug in the VPID/APID was fixed and thus it should be possible to receive the signal also with a downconverter and a normal DVB-S satellite receiver.
Before most groundstations were using the Minitiouner hardware and special software.
Kind regards
Matthias

This is the same 2.4 GHz digital amateur TV transmitter that was operating in the Columbus module several years ago. It is not SSTV. The unit failed and was returned to Earth pre-pandemic, has since been repaired with no changes, given a new external RF filter, and is now being returned to ISS. HamTV is aboard the SpaceX CRS-30 launch scheduled for March 21 at 4:55 PM EDT.
The AMSAT-ON site that Paul mentioned has a good technical description.

Does AMSAT have a "how to" doc on receiving transmisions from this new equipment?

Old free to air DVB-S satellite receiver (no DVB-S2 needed).
But as I mentioned you need a downconverter from 2.4GHz to L-band.
Kind regards
Matthias
