Hi All I am getting my new 30 ft tower and wish to changeover from RG213 to LMR600 I have, for the Vhf and Uhf cross yagis. Will be installing my masthead preamp too and its going to be convinient to use a short length of thinner coax patch upto the Beams near the AZEL. So any tips , suggestions on the type of thin cable RG-58 or RG-213. Thank you Best 73 Pop VU2POP :o) Vhf & Uhf cross yagis, Masthead preamp for Vhf, AZEL with digital readouts all home brew ;o)
Myself...I have used LMR-400 ultra flex the last couple feet and it works great. If not, I'd use LMR-240 ultra flex (physical size of, about, RG-59). I would not use RG-58 unless I have nothing else. Especially at UHF...RG-58 is not much more than a dummy load, in my opinion. RG-223 is also better than nothing at UHF. You don't' say how much power you are running. Smaller coax is not typically good for a whole bunch of power...but 50 watts is no problem. 73!

Hi All Thanks for the tips, Ok I will look for the LMR400 hope I am lucky to get 3-4 mtrs here. I hate to use RG-58 for vhf or uhf. Will use the RG-213 till I get the LMR-400, however this is a very windy season for another month or so and will have to bring dwn the present 20 ft mast and change over . My Vhf is IC-275H and Uhf is TS-811E and I run low power as I dont hog the Sats or any of the local or dx rptrs here. Will have all the pictures soon on my page. Best 73 Pop VU2POP
