Hi,I downloaded and installed the new version (after uninstalling my previous release). I did enter my registration key and restart the program afterwards. All seemed good. Seems I'm back to an old issue, or something similar, where it is NOT centering on my Locator (Setup -> Options -> Center maps on Observer) Rather it centers on the selected satellite, regardless of option chosen, regardless of whether I "Store" or "OK" after selecting the option (and restarting SatPC32) or not.... When it starts... the map seems to pause over the eastern US for a brief instant before switching to center on whatever satellite is selected. I did install this via "Run as administrator" and am a bit baffled. I do see + over my locator (FM29SL) when the selected satellite is close enough to have the Eastern US displayed. Any help / insights would be appreciated. Tnx es 73,Rob KA2CZU

followup... it seems cancelling the "failed" installation cleanly and retrying has removed whatever lock files were there. AT ANY RATE, all installed now :) Thanks and 73,Rob KA2CZU

Erich, Having some trouble with the installation. I uninstalled my old version, downloaded the new to an external drive. Extracted to same. I had tried an install earlier that "hung", perhaps I didn't run as administrator on this win10 "tablet" or not, can't recall. At any rate, trying using the right-click "Run as Administrator" on setup and getting an Error 1500: another installation is in progress. Where is the lock file for a previously "hung" installation kept?Any idea how to clear this? I already rebooted. Thanks,Rob KA2CZU

Steve, Users with registration code don't have to pay again for the new version. My "Downloads" web page says clearly: "The program will be installed as Demo version." and "The full versions can be activated by entering a registration code." The registration code is valid also with new program versions, see http://www.dk1tb.de/downloadinfo.htm
I use Installshield Express to generate the setup files. This tool doesn't generate "Updates" that can be applied to the current version. It requires to un-install the current version before it installs a new one. I have mentioned that also on the "Downloads" web page (under 2e). The Installshield professional versions that generate such "Updates" cost 3 or 4 times as much as the Express version.

Based on what I see, the poster claims 12.8d is available for download from the link supplied. However that does not appear to be the case. In review of the SatPC32 site, Only a demo version is available and there's no "Update(r)" version that can be applied to current versions that I can find. What is really the case? Is this going to be available as an update for current registered users of SatPC32 12.8c, or do we have to pay for a full blown program via the AMSAT store? From what I see the AMSAT store does not provide a update link, only to purchase a new program entirely. I don't see any indication that the AMSAT store is providing the 12.8d version updater. As a matter of fact, it does not even say what version of SatPC32 is being offered. Steve NS3L _______________________________________________ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org.
