This page gives the orbit number at a glance before the pass is over: [ https://mail.amsat.org.ar/pass.htm | https://mail.amsat.org.ar/pass.htm ] But I do not see a way to find one retrospectively from that page.

Of course the 18th SDS keeps track of the orbit numbers. And they publish these numbers in all their orbital parameters, like TLEs. That's why satellite tracking programs can show you the orbit number.
Note that there are several different definitions for the orbit number. Depending on the definition used by the source of your orbital parameters, the number may have an offset of 1. Therefore most people don't use orbit numbers. They simply use the date/time as reference.

Thank you to everyone for working through this for me. It's interesting that the ISS has made so many revolutions around the earth. I was unaware of that.
Regarding orbit numbers, I suppose that I thought that the U.S. Space Command (or some other government agency) perpetually kept track of that kind of thing.
Thank again.

Do any of you happen to know the orbit number for the ~05:00 UTC ISS pass over North America on 5 January (late last night local time)? My son had the best image capture he's ever gotten (the one with the Japanese children in a classroom). I would like to have the orbit number for his archives.
