We switched it to 9k6 digital to try to figure out what happened. 9k6 sounds an awful lot like white noise.
My gut reaction is the reversed cell failed again, this time to a dead short, and the remaining cells were enough to keep it running through eclipse. We also saw a 10 degree C drop in battery temperature between the first and second pass, indicating some sort of big change. At this point we are going to observe for a bit to firm up our hypothesis, then we will try to load the software, get some WOD, and get the transmitters shutting off during eclipse. Observations right now from when the satellite goes into eclipse would be -very- helpful.
Exciting times, but I'm trying to guard my optimism.

Was there people on that pass? It was pretty low for me, I was getting a signal on the down, but no people, I tried a couple times, I am pretty sure it was the bird because the signal faded away as usual.
Anyway my friend KF1BUZ is heading to DN00 Black Rock Desert as I write this. I do not have that grid, just thought if anyone needed it that you might listen for him.
Hope to catch some of you this weekend, thanks again to all who make it possible!
