Re: KLM polarity switch schematic
Hi Domenico and Dave, Thanks for the pics and the help . They helped a lot. The other question I have is that there is 3 componets on the power connector and one on the ground side of theboom screw. I cant tell what they are. I have two on the power connector and nothing on the ground pin. I know they need to be changed. Can you help with this?? Thanks Angelo

Hi Angelo,
In a separate email I have sent to you 3 enlarged pictures of the PCB for the KLM polarity switcher.
Please note that the holes from one side to the other side of the PCB are metallized.
When soldering the new relay do not use a too high temperature for the soldering iron otherwise the studs of relay becames oxidated (blue color)
If possible use solder from ALPHA METALS INC with 62 Sn, 36 PB and 2 Ag

I just took down my polarity switch for my 2 meter KLM and I need
to do
some work with it. I just receivedthe new relay to install but I
may have
damaged a trace or two. So anyone have pictures (without reply installed) or schematic of the board itself??? Thanks in advance.

Hi Angelo And Dave
Over the +12 volt DC connector there is a 1000 pF disk capacitor connected from the center of DC connector to the ground on PCB In addition I have added a diode IN4007 to protect the relay winding from the high voltages developing across the coil during circuit openings. The katode of the diode must be connected to the central pin of the DC connector while the anode is connected to the ground on PCB
