Nick, looking in the archives... http://www.amsat.org/amsat/archive/amsat-bb/200601/msg00618.html
"When you repeatedly get the error message "E/A Fehler 105" ("I/O error 105", it says that a file could not be opened for a write operation) it will be necessary to re-install the program. To do that it is not sufficient to overinstall the program or to uninstall the program with the Windows system panel. Files that have been changed after installation (files with user specific settings) will then not be removed and will not be overwritten when you re-install the program. The file that caused the error will then do that also with the new installation."
yours is different than the original post, but I would think the 105 still means the same thing, cant open a file for write... since you seem to be having the problem only when you are running 2 or 3 other programs my guess would be that you are running out of memory and are into swapping virtual memory, you might want to look at your task manager and see how much free memory you have.
On this pc I have 7 background processes running including a web server and I have never gotten a "105" on Satpc32, but then I also have 2 gig of memory of which a gig is in use so I don't end up swapping.
