Good morning to all,
I have recently entered the relms of Saterlite communications and need a breif list of Sats to initially target that are pretty easy to get into that will allow me to cut my teeth on. I have a FT847 and use 2M 70CM antennas (vertical), so I am pretty right to go as far as hardware is concerned.
I am using Orbatron as the selected tracking software.

Peter,
Welcome to the birds. As you'll learn each bird has it's quirks but the easiest to work is probably AO-51. Listen to a few passes first before keying up. This will hive you dome idea of how thing flow on the birds. You'll also get some practice in pointing the antenna & tuning for doppler.
When you're ready to transmit, pick a pass earlier in the day, AO-51 tends to get crowded.
I enjoy working sats because it's challenging enough to be fun, but not so much so as to get frustrating.
Trust me, your first QSO will be very satisfying.
Good luck & hope to work you soon.

You might want to consider getting a hold of some yagis or something like the Arrow II antenna. The gain and directivity really helps when tracking the bird and getting yourself heard specially when operating QRP.
Anyways as far as easy sats are concerned two that I know of are AO-27 (aka The Easy Sat) and AO-51. There are most likely others that could fall into the classification of easy sat, but I'll let the others throw them up as suggestions.
