Hello My AO-40 (sobsob) techniques are really rusty. I am trying to find AO-51 S band downlink. I forget the conversion frequency on a 3731aa downconverter to the two meter band. With the pass duration I don't have a lot of time to look, which I did. Anyone aim me to the correct frequency? 73 Bob W7LRD

Hi Bob,
I think the 3731's LO is at 2256, so subtract that from the 2401.200 +/- downlink frequency. You should get something around 145.200. Doppler will shift that +/- about 50 kHz, and then you need to factor in your own unit's offset (my modified Drake is off by about another 50 kHz).
I wish you had it running earlier today. I had the satellite all to myself during the 7:30pm PDT pass.

Yes, I agree. The 3731, if it was modified for 2 meters, output is 145.200 plus/minus doppler. Here on the East coast...I had a nice QSO with a VE3 and K5 with the satellite without anyone else. I had blown my original K5GNA unit as I transmitted into it with my Icom 910. I had a spare-Mr. Murphy planning. Thanks to the AO-51 crew for putting a few days of 2.4 so we can test out units for future ops(Hopefully!!??!!) 73, Dee, NB2F P.S. Get over AO-40 already---I miss it too but.... Let's keep on the BOD to do the right stuff!!??!!
