The first James Bond movie "Dr No" (1962) features amateur radio equipment. I /think/ it's the British made KW Electronics LTD range, much coveted at the time this then 20-something nerd. Not having see the film for many years, I cannot recall if the system is actually made use of.

If we were talking about Ham Radio in films, then we should not forget "Si tous les Gars du Monde", made in France, year 1956.
(I thought that English, Italian, American, as well as Japanese titles were put on it, but I can not remember now)

Dear Friends,
I am a little hazy on the exact details as it was a while ago but I remember seeing the 1938 film "Nancy Drew - Detective" based on the book of the same title.
Nancy and her boyfriend Ted get locked in the cellar of an old house by the bad guys. They cannot get out but looking around, they discover an old wireless spark-gap set. They get it working and transmit their location in morse code. The spark-gap transmitter causes interference to every radio in the neighborhood and someone realizes it is morse code and decodes the message. The police come and save them from the cellar and they help to find the bad guys.
Good thing that so many people knew morse code back then :)

ISTR an episode of "7th Heaven" where there was a mention of one of the Camden boys saving his money to buy a "ham radio set".
-- Those GPS thingys aren't worth a darn. I've had one for 3 years, and I still can't find it!
Not necessarily ham related, but the B&W "On the Beach" featured enough Morse Code to entice a submarine from "relatively safe" Australia to nuclear destroyed California.
Somewhere was the line close to "if a million monkeys with a million typewriters...."
I have to get the old B&W TV out to check it out....BRB ;-)

The new movie "Miami Vice" The sergeant asks what his QTH was, not exactly related to actual equipment but worth while to mention.
PS the movie was not good.
